Baltimore
(MD, USA) hosted the last Otakon at the Baltimore Convention Center
on August 11-13. It was organized by Otakorp
Inc and 34,892 people attended the event.
With regard to the special guests, some of them were Shingo
Adachi (Megaman Exe animation director), Peter S. Beagle (author of
The lord of the rings: animated version), Maile Flanagan (Naruto
voice actress), Crispin Freeman (Ghost in the shell voice actor) and
Todd Haberkorn (Allen Walker voice from D.
Gray Man)
among many others. Furthermore,
attendees
participated in activities like Hall Costume Contest, an event where
contestants showed their handmade costumes and explained how they
made them. Additionally, another outstanding event was the LARP, a
Live Action Role Playing with the aim of interaction between the
characters within the boundaries of the entire convention center.
Last but not least, we have to stand out the Charity Auction with
anime signed items and the Charity Poster which people could get in
exchange for a donation to help Japan because of the earthquake in
2011. In conclusion, Otakon provides for anime lovers needs plus what
they don't expect.
